Scraping the Rainforest API
If you’re looking for a simple and effective way to scrape Amazon product data, reviews, categories, seller feedback, and much more, then look no further than the Rainforest API, or the missing unofficial API for scraping publicly listed data from the Amazon website.
Rainforest is a separate service from us (also a paid service), but provides a very reliable and robust API for collecting public Amazon data. While there are some official Amazon APIs, they are typically restricted only to affiliates and have some heavy restrictions (e.g. only scraping data the affiliate has access to), and are not effective for monitoring prices, inventory, or having the freedom to scrape any seller’s data or pulling data from a distant category from what you typically scrape.
Rainforest API Key
To get started, simply visit the Rainforest Site and register for a free API key with them. You’ll then be able to test their service out with our own free trial on this page, as we help you query the Rainforest API without having to write any code and then allow you to export this data as CSV files, which you can then open in Excel or upload to any other tool of your choice for research and analysis.
Scraping Rainforest’s API
Our service works on top of Rainforest to easily query their API and extract data from it into CSV files with just a few clicks instead of hours of coding. When logged in to your Stevesie Account, this page will allow you to execute the endpoints listed here, or for an easier time to get started you can see the Amazon Scraper which has some popular use cases outlined in it.
We will prompt you for your Rainforest API key as needed and any requests made through our service will count towards your Rainforest API usage quota. We are a separate service from Rainforest API and do not have an affiliation with them.
