Download Flooring Data

If you need to gather market data about flooring products, CarpetOne can be a good source of what’s available where and the pricing. They also have affiliated sites, so the approach outlined here will work with any CarpetOne affiliate website.

1. Browse CarpetOne Products

Head to the CarpetOne Flooring Search Feature and enter any search terms and filters you want to use to browse the flooring products you want to scrape the data for. Once loaded, right click on the web page and hit “Inspect” to open developer tools which will begin recording your web traffic. Now refresh the webpage and scroll down through the results, loading more pages as needed.

2. Export & Download Data

Once you’ve browsed through enough data, click the “Network” tab in developer tools and click the down arrow labeled “Export HAR…” to download a HAR file containing a copy of the raw data that CarpetOne sent to your browser in the previous step. Upload that file to the HAR File Web Scraper and we’ll parse out and group together related requests, allowing you to download the combined data into CSV files you can then analyze in Excel or your favorite spreadsheet program.
