Scraping Tweets by Hashtag
If you’re performing social media content research or influencer outreach, specifically on Twitter, you need a way to find content and/or creators that are relevant to your goals. One common way to achieve this is through hashtags, where you can generate a list of relevant hashtags and then find Tweets and Twitter users who frequently post with these hashtags. Using the Twitter API, you can also scrape the engagement and following metrics of these Tweets and users, so you can later on restrict your outreach or analysis to the most popular content and users.
This page helps get you started in using the Twitter API to scrape content by hashtags. Simply review the sample query above and replace the provided hashtag with whatever you’re interested in. You can combined multiple hashtags, however it will perform an AND operation and narrow your search. If you want to perform an OR and scrape content matching a list of hashtags, you can check out the “workflow” version of this endpoint and provide multiple hashtags (one per line) and then download the combined results as a CSV file.
