Scraping OpenWeatherMap Data
OpenWeatherMap offers current weather data & forecasts in cities around the world, featuring a robust API you can use to build apps with or simply scrape public data from. To use this API, you’ll need to get a free OpenWeatherMap API key which will offer limited usage to test it out. If you’re happy with the service, OpenWeatherMap does offer paid plans for scraping a lot of weather data on a daily basis.
Getting Started
Once you have your API key, you can use the endpoints directly (by writing custom code), which is best if you need to have on-demand access to the data (like if you’re building a weather app meant for direct consumers).
Our Service
If you instead need the data in bulk sets (e.g. you want to perform historical analysis or look at data on a day-by-day basis), you may want to use the endpoints on this page that will save you the trouble of writing code if you only need to pull down large weather datasets, as our platform will automatically convert the JSON responses from the official API into easy-to-use downloadable CSV files.
